A couple of area golfers had memorable days on the course Saturday. Dennis Breske hit a hole-in-one on the par-4 fifth hole at Westward Ho, while Zane Swenson, a club pro at Brandon Golf Course, hit a double-eagle on the par-5 No. 1. Breske’s ace was from 292 yards, and he used a driver. Westward Ho said it was the first double eagle at the course in a “considerable amount of time.”

It’s the start of golf season at the nine-hole Zionsville Golf Course, despite several days of cold weather. The public course, just north of the village, opened March 21, a week later than planned because of repairs to the course and its clubhouse after water damage caused by recent flooding.
