Valley Golfers Vie For Titles At State Tournaments

AUSTIN – The Valley’s two golfers who qualified for the 5A State Tournament have finished their 1st of 2-rounds at Austin’s Jimmy Clay Golf Course.   Harlingen South’s Roman Robledo is tied for 6th after shooting a 73 on Thursday–that’s 5-shots off the overall lead.  On the girls side, Edinburg High’s Jessica Tamen shot an 82, and she’s tied for 11th, and she’s 14-behind the overall leader …

As Dylan Siebenaler and Ryanne Haddow embark on their first trips to Austin and the state competitions at Jimmy Clay Golf Course, Lamar Consolidated golf coach Kelly Kitchens is excited at the prospects of his golfers, who for various reasons will not be back next year.
