Veteran Golfers play in Escalon

Golfers from the Standiford Place assisted living facility in Modesto got in a practice round Tuesday in Escalon in anticipation of Saturday’s tournament benefiting a program called Outward Bound for Veterans.

The Royals return to the golf course in 2010 with experience. They placed second in Mississippi 8 play and 10th in sections last spring. “Our strength is in our experience,” said Rogers coach Durand Onell. “We are returning five golfers who at some time competed at the varsity level last year.”
